Week 10 (FINAL)

Bobcats of the Week!

Week 9 Bobcats of the Week!

8's: Caleb Guildner - "Caleb started out as a back-up linebacker and has now moved into a starting defensive role, where he has become a hard-nosed, hard-hitting defensive tackle who will put the hurt on anyone lined up in front of him.  He shows up to every practice on time and ready to go.  In our game against Hyland Hills Saturday, Caleb had at least four solo tackles and numerous assists; he also stepped up for us on offense and played tight-end, where he made several key blocks allowing us to run on the perimeter for about three of our touchdowns.  Way to go, Caleb, keep up the hard work!" - Coach Shea
9's: Trea Gomez - "All season long, Trea has played his heart out!  On offense and defense, you can usually find him in the middle of the play!  Trea is as tough as they come, for a 9-year-old, and is a Bobcat to the core!" - Coach Sadoff
10's: Felipe Cruz - "This young man is a strong factor on our team.  He brings so much intensity blocking and on defense.  He dominates as only a Bobcat can!  Thank you for your ability!" - Coach Sutak
11's: Erik Lawson - "Erik has been an outstanding leader and has maintained a positive attitude throughout the year.  He has worked very hard this year and has been very open to coaches helping him.  Erik has really turned the corner at Quarterback the last two weeks, with his running and throwing the ball.  He ran for four touchdowns and threw for three PAT's.  Great job of runningt the offense this year, Erik!" - Coach Platt
12's: Bridger Dunn - "Bridger comes to every practice ready to work hard, giving it his best.  Bridger is a candidate for player of the week every week, pushing the other players to work harder.  Bridger has done a great job containing at the Defensive end position.  Good job, Bridger - keep up the hard work in Middle School football next year!" - Coach Archuleta

Week 8 Bobcats of the Week!

Shown with cakes for each team, made by Rebecca Coors:
12's: James 'Burrito' Fresquez
 - "James comes to every practice with a lot of intensity, pushing the other players to work harder.  James plays Nose Guard, stopping everything up the middle.  Two weeks ago James recovered four fumbles in one game, helping the Bobcats come away with the win.  James has a great personality, and is a fun young man to coach.  Good job, and keep recovering those fumbles, Burrito!" - Coach Archuleta
11's: Mike Devries - "Mike has been a workhorse on the offensive and defensive lines all year.  Mike plays the entire game and his motor never slows down.  With Brighton sending two players to block him all game, he still was able to record six solo tackles, two behind the line of scrimmage.  He is a very coachable and hardworking athlete who has not missed one practice this year.  Mike is a great teammate and knows how to have fun, and also knows when to get his gameface on.  Way to go, Monk!" - Coach Platt
10's: RJ Olds - "After breaking his wrist last season, RJ has developed into a good Quarterback.  Last week, he was on the money against Broomfield.  He threw the ball extremely well and is the offensive coach on the field.  Not to mention, he has to put up with his dad 24/7.  Way to go, RJ!" - Coach Sutak
9's: Paul Zidek - "Zidek has stepped up his game week by week!  This kid has been paying attention, and it shows!  Not only is he running over Middle Linebackers as a Fullback, he is also catching passes at the Tight-End position.  Keep rising to the challenge, Paul!" - Coach Sadoff
8's: Mason Williams - "Mason is another one of our guys who started out the season afraid to hit, but that has definitely changed now.  Mason will hit anything and anyone who moves in his direction.  He is not afraid of anything, and, according to him, he has a lot more to show.  Keep it up Mason!" - Coach Shea

Week 7 Bobcats of the Week!

8's: Buck Coors - "Buck is probably the smallest kid on our team, yet he hits like he is one of the biggest.  He comes out day-in and day-out and puts forth more than enough effort to get the job done.  This was never more apparent than during our game last Saturday against Brighton.  Buck had more than enough legitimate reasons to not be at the game, yet he came out with his fearless attitude and gave 100% without a single complaint.  Way to be a warrior, Buck!" - Coach Shea
9's: Lucas Disabito - "Lucas is a first-year player, and though at first was a little nervous, he now has found that hard work, and paying attention to his position when he's not playing, has opened a lot of opportunities for him to play and compete.  Keep working hard and stay TUFF!" - Coach Sadoff
10's: Shane Wetzel - "In the dictionary, under the word 'heart', there should be a picture of Sugar Shane.  Three weeks after having a procedure done on his own heart, Shane returned and started against undefeated Broomfield.  Shane plowed through the Broomfield "D" and punished Broomfield's Running Backs, while playing Cornerback.  We're so glad to have you back, Shane!" - Coach Bob
11's: Sean Cunningham - "Sean has been an absolute work-horse on the field, during games and in practice.  He comes to practice everyday ready to work, and it shows during the game.  He pushes himself and his team to get better each day.  Sean is one of the hardest runners in the league, and has a desire to get better as an athlete and a teammate.  It's great to have Sean on our side.  Great job, Sean!" - Coach Platt
12's: Tristen Archuleta - "Tristen is the Quarter Back and Captain of the Offense.  Tristen plays hard every time he is on the field, never taking a play off.  Tristen is a candidate for player of the week every week, but it was this last week that he played with a lot of heart and determination to win the game.  Tristen rushed for four touchdowns and over 100 yards, and passed for 1 touchdown, scoring five times in one game.  Good job Tristen, keep up the hard work!" - Coach Archuleta

Week 6 Bobcats of the Week!

8's: Nathan Uribes - "Nathan shows up day in and day out and gives 100% effort whenever he is asked to do something.  At the beginning of the season we could barely get him to hit, now there is no stopping him.  Nathan will lower his pads and hit anyone near him, even a 9-year-old!" - Coach Shea
9's: Michael Torres - "Torres is 100% effort!  Forced to play as a double-patch player, Torres has dominated kids twice his size and has been a headache for every offense that he has played against.  Keep it up!" - Coach Sadoff
10's: Jack Burgesser - "It was a tough decision this week.  There were a lot of players that deserved this.  But the player that stands out in my mind is Jack Burgesser, with an incredible interception in our last game!" - Coach Bob
11's: Julian Davidson - "This week was a very tough decision, with many players deserving of the award, but Julian has done an outstanding job at the middle and outside LB position this year.  His hard work in practice paid off in Saturday's game with six solo tackles and 4 assisted.  He also made a beautiful play dropping back into coverage and knocking down a pass.  Julian is not afraid to mix it up with the big RB's.  Great job, Julian!" - Coach Platt
12's: Kyle Billingsley - "Kyle comes to practice everyday, ready to give it 100%.  Kyle plays Wide Receiver on the offense and plays Corner Back on the defense.  Kyle does not complain, and is willing to try whatever the coaches ask him to do, at practice and at games.  In Saturday's game against Northglenn, Kyle had a 50-yard touchdown reception and a 40-yard touchdown run - making it easy for the coaches to pick him for player of the week.  Good job, Kyle, keep up the hard work!" - Coach Archuleta

Week 5 Bobcats of the Week!

8's: Dominic Esters - "We gave a lot of consideration to our decision this week; we had a lot of guys that definitely deserved this award.  However, Dominic stood out above the rest.  After trailing 12 - 0 at halftime against Carbon Valley, Dominic stepped it up and rushed for two touchdowns in the second half!  This, as well as his outstanding play on defense, helped lead the 8-year-olds to VICTORY!" - Coach Coors
9's: Nick Hoff - "Nick's determination and speed allowed him to catch a guy from 15 yards behind.  This was a game-changing play that led to a win for our team.  Nick set an example of not giving up no matter what!  Outstanding job!  We thank you!" - Coach Sadoff
10's: Andrew Vigil - "Andrew took a couple weeks off from his Running Back duties and came back with a vengeance.  He dominated Northglenn last weekend.  It's nice to have you back, Drew!" - Coach Sutak
11's: Andre Maginot - "Andre has become our most complete player.  He tackles hard, runs hard, has great hands, and has an outstanding attitude.  In an effort to get the ball in his hands more often, Andre was asked to move from Wide Receiver position to RB/Slot Back, and did an fantastic job running the ball inside and on the edge.  Andre is a very talented athlete and makes things happen on the field, but his best attributes are his hard work and positive attitude.  It's great to have Andre as a Bobcat!" - Coach Platt
12's: Reid Hobbs - "Reid came to practice this week with a lot of intensity and drive.  He tested everyone in his way, tackling them when he could, and if not he chased them down and made them run harder and faster.  Reid got high-five's from all of his coaches and teammates all week long.  Good job Reid, keep up the hard work!" - Coach Archuleta

Week 4 Bobcats of the Week!

12's: Tyler Eilers - "Tyler comes to every practice with a lot of intensity, pushing the other players to work harder.  Tyler was our Tight End, but due to the lack of size on our offensive line, we moved him to Tackle.  Tyler is doing a great job at this position filling his blocking assignments.  Good job, Tyler - keep up the intensity!" - Coach Archuleta
11's: Cameron Turner - "Cameron has really turned up the intensity this year, doing a great job at Defensive Tackle.  Since day-one this year, Cameron has been doing everything the coaches have asked of him and more.  Through his hard work, he has become a dominating presence in the middle of the defense.  He is the model teammate, always patting someone on the back, never putting others down.  It's great to have Cameron a part of the team!" - Coach Platt

10's: Raven Chacon - "Raven played through bruised ribs all week at practice and during our game on Saturday.  With all the injuries we've had this year, Raven sacrificed himself for his team.  He ran for a 31-yard touchdown, caught a 23-yard touchdown pass, and returned a punt for a touchdown.  An unbelievable effort and sacrifice for his team.  Thanks, Raven!" - Coach Sutak
9's: Adrian Naranjo - "All eyes on #38!  Watch him explode underneath a defender's pads and drive him out of the way.  Adrian's hard work in the trenches makes him an easy choice for Bobcat of the Week.  We're watching!" - Coach Sadoff

8's: Matthew Shannon - "Great effort, day in and day out.  One of our most improved players.  Matthew has a fantastic attitude and is a lot of fun to coach!" - Coach Coors

Week 3 Bobcats of the Week!

8's: Von Bach - "Von's improvement this season has been nothing short of amazing.  He listens to the coaches, knows his plays, and gives 100% effort at practice.  He has put in considerable practice at home sharpening his skills.  All this has translated to success on the field with several solid runs and an interception last Saturday!" - Coach Coors
9's: Eric Gambon - "Eric is Captain of our Defense at Middle Linebacker, as well as Captain of our Offense at Fullback.  He is always helping and instructing teammates when they need it.  Eric is an outstanding athlete and a great competitor.  Keep it up!" - Coach Sadoff
10's: Dominic Montoya - "Dominic fulfilled all of his blocking assignments during last week's game.  His defensive ability has improved tremendously since the beginning of the year.  He has exceptional strength in special teams.  Great job Dominic!" - Coach Sutak
11's: Grant Kauvar - "Grant has worked very hard, in practice and the games, at becoming the best Cornerback he can be.  Saturday, Grant was beat by the wide receiver but he never put his head down.  He listened to coaches and corrected his technique, and two plays later he came down with the game-clinching interception against Brighton.  Great job Grant!" - Coach Platt
12's: Shea Weidman - "Shea is the Offensive Center and Defensive Tackle.  He has been playing with the Bobcats for four years.  He is a hard worker in practice and on game day.  Shea is the type of player that can lead his teammates by example.  He is always joking, keeping it fun.  Good job Shea!" - Coach Archuleta

Week 2 Bobcats of the Week!

8's: Mac Post - "Mac is the ultimate warrior in practice and in games.  Mac always brings leadership and tenacity.  He spent the whole game in Erie's backfield and was our best defensive player!" - Coach Coors
9's: Anthony Losasso - "Tough as nails kid, who practiced and played with a fractured lower leg to stay on the field to help our team.  This kid has the spirit of a warrior and the courage to fight in battle!" - Coach Sadoff

10's: Tevin Borrego (Not pictured) - "Tevin is the epitome of Bobcat Football!  One Hundred percent every play, and tough as steel.  He always draws double-teams and sometimes triple-teams.  Way to go Tank!" - Coach Sutak
11's: Ben Platt - "Ben is the ultimate team player who goes hard every practice.  During the game, he stepped up from his Tight End position when our Running Back got injured.  Subsequently, he demolished and punished the Hyland Hills defense!" - Coach Platt
12's: Kyle Taudien - "This is Kyle's first year with the Bobcats.  He practices real hard and never slacks at the drills we're doing.  He is a sure tackler.  In Saturday's game against Hyland Hills, Kyle had a sack for about an 8-yard loss; next play he intercepted a pass and returned it for about a 40-yard gain, to help the 12-year-olds to a 26 to 16 victory.  Good job Kyle!" - Coach Archuleta

Week 1 Bobcats of the Week!

8's: Gabe Faraca - "Gabe has displayed leadership both in practice and in our first game.  He recovered a kick-off, got a safety, and made numerous tackles from his strong side linebacker position.  His dominant performance and experience has set the bar high for the rest of the team.  Keep up the good work, Gabe!" - Coach Coors
9's: Matthew Axelrod - "Hustle, leadership, and focus help put Axelrod to the top of our list for Bobcat of the Week!" - Coach Sadoff
10's: Jake L'Heureux - "Jake is always busting his butt in practice, and has earned a starting spot because of it.  Way to go, Jake!" - Coach Sutak
11's: Colton Burgesser - "Colton was outstanding this weekend, snapping the ball in the shotgut formation and blocking in the middle the entire game.  The Bobcats ran over 55 offensive plays, all from the shotgun, against Superior and we had zero muffed snaps.  Colton worked very hard during and after practice the last two weeks to improve his snaps and the outcome was awesome.  Colton takes great pride being the Center for the Bobcats.  He made the offense go.  Congratulations Colton!" - Coach Platt
12's: Orlando Castillo - "This young man has been playing with the Bobcats for about three to four years.  But it wasn't until this season that he came to a completely different level of play.  He's hitting and tackling like he was on a mission.  He has been playing like a big-time player and is a big part of this team's success!" - Coach Archuleta
