(Bobcat of the Week and Smasburger winners from Weeks 8-10)
Week 10 - November 7, 2009

8's (AJ Corne) -
"AJ was one of our most improved players through the course of the season.  He worked very hard in practice and became a great TE.  He sealed the edge over and over again to allow big runs.  He also stepped up for us as a Safety several times and helped to fill in the spot again to allow big runs.  Because AJ worked harder than just about anyone on the team, he became an all-around football player who can tackle, block, and run with the best of them.  Great Job, AJ." -- Coach Guildner

9's () - "" -- Coach Shea

10's (Cade Coors) - "Big #44 brought his game this season.  Coors was a versatile player this year, with the responsibility of blocking and running routes at slot back.  At running back, Cade picked up good yardage consistently and blocked just as well.  Cade is a leader on the field.  He knows every play we have and helps his teammates figure out what to do when they are confused.  At defensive back, #44 is smart and plays tough.  Great to have you on our team." -- Coach Sadoff

11's (RJ Olds) - "To break a wrist for the second time in 3 years and to come back and throw for over 200 yards is an accomplishment rarely seen in youth sports. RJ came back against Superior Red and dominated the defense with precise passes and leadership of the offense. The 2-minute drill at the end of the 1st half was a feat most High School quarterbacks wouldn’t be able to handle. Another truly amazing performance and please NO MORE BROKEN BONES KID!" -- Coach Sutak

12's (Julian Davidson) - "Julian has been a workhorse all year playing 5 different positions and giving full effort all year.  His hard work paid off breaking off a 50 plus yard run to the end zone for his last game as a Bobcat.  Julian was always willing to throw his body into the play and played with passion and desire.  Great to have you on our side.  Great Job Julian!" -- Coach Platt

Week 9 - October 31, 2009

8's and 9's -- Bye Week

10's (Kaleb Sadoff-Tierney) - "#7 has given his all this season, playing as strong as a player can at defensive back, shutting down almost everything that went his way.  On offense #7 can go in at running back or go for a route as a receiver.  He is an intense competitor and a loyal teammate.  Hey Kalebski I am very proud of you!" -- Coach Sadoff

11's (Raven Chacon) - "Raven is being awarded Bobcat of the Week in week 9 because the rules do not allow 2 players in one week. During our final game of the season Raven was truly amazing. 2 Interceptions on Defense and 5 offensive receptions, an incredible performance and we finally caught a glimpse of what his hands can do when he brings them with him. Way to go!" -- Coach Sutak

12's (Andre Maginot) - "Andre is a very talented and skilled young man who gives his all every play.  On the football field Andre has the ability to turn on the switch and become a physical and aggressive player.  He has been outstanding at the corner position shutting down the receivers and also coming up for the big hit on the running back.  Andre is the ultimate teammate never complaining but always ready to do whatever the coaches ask.  He is a fierce competitor and always put the team first.  You make coaching fun.  Way to go Andre!!" -- Coach Platt

Week 8 - October 24, 2009

8's (Caleb Guildner) -
"Caleb had a solid game playing LG and C.  We installed a new play that called for Caleb to pull around the left edge.  When the play was called, Caleb came around the corner and helped seal the edge to get our running back into the endzone.  He also sealed off hard blitzes through the A gap all game. Caleb's hard work ethic and solid effort in practice has translated to results on the field.  He is a leader by encouraging and teaching his team-mates and has been a valuable member of a solid O line this year.  Great job kid!" -- Coach Guildner

9's () - "" -- Coach Shea

10's (Gerald Romero) - "#29 has opened more options for our offense due to his laser strait shotgun snaps.  Romero is a dominating force on both sides of the football.  At defensive tackle he shuts down the running game of our opponents and pressures the quarterback in pass attempts.  On offense his long snaps give our quarterback time to find an open receiver.  Romero also is a great running back that likes to run people over.  Great season kid." -- Coach Sadoff

11's (Shane Wetzel) - "Shane is one of those kids that will do anything asked of him. He is always in the mix either offensively or defensively. During our game against Brighton Red Shane plowed through defenders and ran like a true fullback. Defensively he shut down the middle of the field where Brighton was trying to exploit. Focus on Athletics and you will go far kid!" -- Coach Sutak

12's (Bernard Chavez) - "Bernard is the ultimate team player willing to play any position on the field that will help the team win.  This weekend he played an outstanding game at Defensive End and stepped in at Quarterback for a couple series.  Bernard is a dream to coach because he is always ready to play and he will do anything the coaches ask of him.  He never complains and is always supporting his Bobcat brothers.  Keep up the great attitude and work ethic Bernard!!!" -- Coach Platt

Week 7 - October 22, 2009

(From L-R):
8's (Quinn Rubin) - "Quinn had a fantastic game on Saturday.  He registered 5 solo tackles, 3 of them for a loss.  He also ran for a touchdown.  Whether he is blocking, running, tackling or defending a receiver, Quinn plays at 100%.  He also makes very athletic plays.  In Saturday's game, the Commerce City QB threw a pass and Quinn cut in the throwing lane and picked it off.  It was one of the most athletic plays I've ever seen an 8 yr old make.  Keep working and playing hard Quinn!" -- Coach Guildner

9's (Talon Hickey) - "Talon is a key member of our team he shows up everyday ready to go. He is never afraid to go up against even the biggest of opponents. In our game Saturday, while on kick-off, Talon ran down the field, wrapped-up the ball carrier, took the ball right out of his hands, and ran it down about 20 yards fighting for every yard. Way to go Talon!!!!" -- Coach Shea

10's (Trae Gomez) - "#30 has stepped his game up. He is paying attention at practice and giving his best effort in everything he does. Trae is as tough as a 10yr old can be. He took a hit that would have sent most kids out to the sidelines. Trae got up and played the rest of the game. Trae also worked hard and defended his area at nose guard as well as safety. Keep it up." -- Coach Sadoff

11's (Levi Corliss) - "Levi always works his butt off at practice and during games never giving up on anything.  Thanks to his efforts last weekend the 11yr old's handed Brighton a 36-0 shutout. One play that Levi made secured the shutout. From Levi's strongside safety position Brighton threw a pass to the weakside TE, our corner and safety on that side missed the tackle and the Brighton TE was sprinting towards the endzone. Levi took the perfect angle and made the tackle at the 1 yd line giving the rest of the defense a chance to secure the shutout. Way to Battle and never give up Levi!! " -- Coach Sutak

12's (Colton Burgesser) - "Colton is Mr. Automatic at the Center position.  The only time you notice the Center is when there are bad hikes.   Colton almost never misses a snap in the shot gun formation or under center.  He is also our long snapper for punts and put two hikes right on the kicking block for two extra points this weekend.  Colton takes great pride in his job and he does a great job.  Thank you Colton for being the trigger man to our offense." -- Coach Platt

Week 6 - October 15, 2009

(From L-R):
12's (Sean Cunningham) - "Sean was phenomenal this weekend running for 312 yards and 3 touchdowns in only 3 quarters against the Louisville Pirates.  But that is not why he is the bobcat of the week:  It’s because he is a workhorse on offense and defense.  Sean works hard every day in practice running through drills and taking reps as though it’s a game situation.  All of his hard work pays off on Saturday’s.   You only have to ask Sean to do something once and it’s done.  Sean has become a vocal leader and more importantly a leader by example.  Great work Sean!!!" -- Coach Platt

11's (Jack Burgesser) - " Burgy, as he is affectionately known to us, is a total team player who is on the field the entire time. Burgy has played tight end, guard, quarterback, fullback, middle linebacker, and defensive end. His versatility and desire to help the team anyway he can is a quality that will take him as far as he wants to go with football. We are fortunate to have this young man on our side." -- Coach Sutak

10's (Trevor Hight) - "Hight came out this year and put forth a great effort!  #33 is a team player that will do whatever his coaches ask of him. In last week's game   Hight was given the responsibility to cover and protect the backside pass. He picked up his receiver fast and shut down any chances of a pass thrown into his coverage area. Hight also  works  as hard as he can at practice and  is a teammate in whom his team can count on to be there.  Great to have you on our team." -- Coach Sadoff

9's (Mac Post) - "Mac shows up to practice day in and day out always ready to go as a leader and a teacher. There is not much that can stop this kid whether it be a broken finger or an ambulance ride off the practice field. He may take a lickin' but he keeps on tickin' . To Mac our game Saturday may have felt like any other game for him, but to the coaching staff he was a dominating force and one of many key reasons for our win. On defense Mac successfully stuffed up the middle and on offense he led our line in several key drives. Way to go Mac and keep up the great work!!" -- Coach Shea

8's (Nathan Uribes) - "Nathan was a true warrior on Saturday.   Although he was cold and battered from battling a Brighton team that outsized us, Nate continued to fight to the bitter end.  Never once did he complain about the cold.  He just kept coming back for more.  His play and the play of kids like him, gave us a chance against a very good opponent.  It came to our attention this week, that Nate had the flu on Saturday and that makes his efforts and determination even more impressive." -- Coach Guildner

Week 5 - October 8, 2009

(From L-R)
:

12's (Weston Dinsmore) - "Weston put together one of the best all around games of the year. He ran 6 times for 26 yards.  Had 4 receptions for 65 yards.  He accounted for 5 tackles, and two interceptions, taking one all the way to the house to put the Bobcats up 20 to zero.  But what has really improved is his down field blocking at the receiver position, and his willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team.  Great job Weston.  " -- Coach Platt"

11's (Andrew Vigil, not pictured) - "In last week's OT win #47 carried us into overtime and eventually won the game on our first offensive play. He also came up with a huge stop at the 1yd line stuffing Commerce City's receiver and setting up a hardfought victory for the 11's. Way to go D" -- Coach Sutak

10's (Adrian Naranjo) - "# 38  has been coming out to play football !  His intensity and aggressive play during last week's game  gave our  running backs hole to hit at will.  Adrian  is becoming the role model at practice for the newer players by sounding off loud and getting our team fired up!!  Keep it up, great job." -- Coach Sadoff

9's - BYE WEEK

8's (Bryce DesJardins) - "Bryce has developed into an all around football player.  He tackles extremely well, and has learned how to run the ball hard.  He scored 3 TD's on Saturday and played his finest game of the season.  Bryce is very easy to coach.  He listens very well and implements instruction quickly.  He also works very hard and it shows in his play!!!  Great job Bryce!!" -- Coach Guildner

Week 4 - October 1, 2009

(From L-R):
8's (Joey Hoff) - "Joey has been a very consistent player this year.  He is a starting Corner Back on defense and recovered a fumble for a Touchdown in Saturdays game for his first career Bobcat TD.  Joe has become one of our best tacklers and has been hitting harder and harder.  Joe also comes in as our first back up running back and has been able to play all of the backfield positions and Tight End.  He works hard and is very takes instruction very well.  Keep up the great work Joey!!!" -- Coach Guildner

9's (Dominic Esters) - "Dom comes out everyday ready to play. In our game Saturday Dom played a huge role in containing the outside perimeter at defensive end, shutting down anything that came his way. Helping lead our defense to our 3rd straight shutout as well as not allowing any first downs for the opponent. Way to go Dom keep up the great work!!" -- Coach Shea

10's (Eric Gambon, aka, "The Real Deal") - "#32 is a great football player.  Earlier this season while playing last year's AFC Champs, he absolutely shut down their offense by smothering their best player.  And just last week when our defensive line was getting pushed around, Gambon came in at nose tackle and seemingly single-handedly stopped the surge right then and there, which changed the tempo of our game against Northglenn.  Thanks for your hard work.  Have fun the rest of the season."
-- Coach Sadoff

11's (Quinn Sharp) -
"Last week's game saw the emergence of a talented running back. Quinn rushed for 50 + yards on only a handful of carries. We are excited and expect Quinn to duplicate his performance every week. Keep running hard Quinn!" -- Coach Sutak

12's (Brandon Baxley) - "Week in and week out Brandon is physically outsized by apposing defensive linemen giving up 50 and sometimes 100 LBS.  He uses great technique and leverage and has a huge heart.  Brandon almost never gets beat and was instrumental in protecting our QB this weekend from the Fullback position no allowing a sack in the game.  Brandon is the ultimate team player, never complains, and is willing to block for his teammates to help the team win.  Brandon is a role model for future Bobcats in what it means to be a team player.  Way to go Brandon!!!" -- Coach Platt

Week 3 - September 25, 2009

(From L-R):

12's (Tyler Murrell) - "Tyler is a Bobcat to the heart.   He works hard every day in practice and keeps a positive attitude on the sideline.   This weekend he played one of his best games of his career starting at Outside Linebacker.   He really stepped up and played the run with great determination and was disciplined in covering the Tight end and receiver in his area.  Tyler is a valuable asset to the team and is a great teammate.   We are glad that you are a Bobcat.  Congratulations Tyler!!!" -- Coach Platt

11's (Isaiah Aldama) - "Isaiah came back from a broken collarbone and has showed tremendous heart stepping in wherever he is needed.  He is the epitome of what Bobcat Football is all about and we are fortunate to hav ehim back." -- Coach Sutak

10's (Anthony Lossaso, aka "The Losassin") - "#17 had his mind made up that he'd rather be carried off the field then quit.  Play after play he fought and battled at defensive end shutting down any offense coming to his side.  Anthony, it is Warriors like you that instill dignity in a loss. great effort." -- Coach Sadoff

9's (Von Bach) - "Von is one of our captains and has definitely earned it. At quarterback, on Saturday, Von helped to lead our offense down the field and assisted in getting our team into the endzone four times. On defense Von made several tackles and had a key interception on the goalline to help seal up a 26 to nothin' win for the Bobcats. Way to go Mr. I-N-T." -- Coach Shea

8's (Will Van Poppel) - "Will was a force on an offensive line that scored 6 TD's from 4 different backs.  The entire line was outstanding, but Will seemed to stand out.  He consistently drove his defender back 7-8yrds.  He plays Guard, Center, and Running Back on Offense and scored his 1st TD on a hard run up the gut early in the game.  Will also plays Tackle, and Inside and Outside Linebacker on Defense.  He always does whatever asked of him and works very hard both on and off the field.  WAY TO GO WILL!" -- Coach Guildner

Week 2 - September 17, 2009

(From L-R):

8's (Buck Coors) -
"As our QB, Buck is a true leader.  He scored one of four TD's on Saturday, and his TD helped put the opposing team away.  He also had 6 tackles, including 2 sacks.  Pound for pound he is our hardest hitter, and never backs down to anyone." -- Coach Guildner

9's (Angel Mata) - "Angel has been a workhorse for us, he plays every down of every game without as much as a peep about being tired or hurting.  He shows up to practice every day ready to go.  In our game Saturday, Angel helped lead our offense into the end zone with his great blocking skills, and on defense he helped seal up a shutout by consistently getting into the backfield and making down field tackles.  Way to go Angel." -- Coach Shea

10's (Alex Torres) - "Mr. Playmaker, Alex Torres, is amazing to watch!!  #28 runs like the wind and has vision like an eagle.  This kid is full speed high octane!  This season he has already returned two punts for touchdowns and in last week's game he grabbed a fumble out of the air and ran it back for a 50-yard, very much needed, touchdown.  Hey Torres, you're on fire." -- Coach Sadoff

11's (Ben Lavoie) - "Ben is a first year player that brings a big body and big heart to the practice and game field each week.  We can always count on Ben to lead by example.  He is a tremendous addition to our team and we look forward to his continued development." -- Coach Sutak

12's (Erik Lawson) - "This weeks 12 year old Bobcat of the Week goes to Erik Lawson!!!  Erik works hard everyday in practice, never misses a practice, and is the heart of the offense.  He is an outstanding leader on the field and continually helps his teammates with the offensive formations.  This weekend this young man helped run the offense with precision and focus totaling 257 yards.  Erik threw for 181 yards and completed 13 of 18 passes without an interception.  His commitment to the team and ability to handle the pressure as a quarterback is invaluable.  It's great to have Erik on our side.  Congratulations Erik Lawson. " -- Coach Platt

Week 1 - September 3, 2009

(From L-R):
8's (Anthony Montoya) -
"Anthony played a great game on Saturday.  He made several tackles and helped late in the game on a QB sack that fired up our team.  He followed that up with a 40-yard TD run to put us within striking distance.  His speed is electric!  Anthony is a quiet leader and is one of the hardest working members on our team!  Way to go Anthony!" -- Coach Guildner

9's (Gabe Faraca) - "Gabe defined hard-nosed football on Saturday against Hyland Hills.  Although he did not have any big runs or touchdowns he was not afraid to lower his helmet and put the hurt on someone whether he was on offense or defense.  The courage he displayed Saturday is a true show of what Bobcat football is all about." -- Coach Shea

10's (Paul Scheufele) - "Paul is always at practice and is a very dependable team player.  The coaches, the team, and the players can always count on Paul.  In Saturday's game, Paul came in at offensive guard, and opened up a hole that our running back shot through and scored.  It was this play that sealed the game, and deflated the opposing team." -- Coach Sadoff

11's (Tevin "The Tank" Borrego) - "During the third quarter of our game last Saturday, Tevin stripped the ball from the running back and dashed 45 yards to score the first TD of his career.  An amazing performance as usual from "The Tank." -- Coach Sutak

12's (Brian Axelrod) - "The 12 year old Bobcat of the week is a young man who is the ultimate team player, will do anything the coaches ask of him, always pushes himself to his best, is an outstanding teammate, and did not back down from a huge defensive line last Saturday in his first game of tackle football.  This young man loves to block and hit and has been an outstanding addition to the 12-year-old family.  Congratulations to Brian Axelrod." -- Coach Platt
